Meet Director
Job Description
The Meet Director is primarily responsible for the coordination and planning of the LAMVAC annual swim meet. The job begins in the November/December time frame when it is necessary to get the meet sanction application from Pacific Swimming and invite the officials and timing/computer vendors to the meet.
Other duties include:
- Arranging for vendors
- Working with Foothill College to get the contract for use of the pool
- Arranging for the meet to be posted on Swim Connection
- Being on deck during the meet
- Working with the Volunteer Coordinator
- Securing a facilities set-up and tear-down volunteer
- Handling phone calls from parents
- Job Requirements
- Access to email
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Sense of humour
The job is fun, the LAMVAC volunteers are the best in the world and you have a tremendous sense of accomplishment when the meet is finished.
FUNDRAISER
Job Description
We are looking for an energetic individual to help organize fundraising events throughout the year. These include:
- Fundraising dinners
- Swim-a-thon
- eScrip
- Swim meet raffle
This is a great opportunity to get out into the community and meet individuals and local businesses and help raise funds for the team.
