Our introductory pre-competitive program is designed to prepare swimmers ages 5 to 14 to graduate to our first team level, Piranhas. The focus is on developing a strong foundation in stroke techniques: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly kick.
Prerequisites: Swimmer must be able to enter the water independently, float on back, and do basic freestyle with big arms partially or fully across a 25-yard pool. Some advanced Tadpoles may enter meets at the coach’s discretion.
Class: Tadpole lessons are held in 45 minute classes, Monday through Thursday, in three-week sessions run year-round. Classes are limited to 15 swimmers per instructor. Classes are typically divided into beginning and advanced groups. Swimmers are not required to attend all 12 classes in a session but frequent attendance does result in faster progress.
